One day I came back from lunch to see that my classroom was trashed. This incident is perhaps not as dramatic as it sounds, and was certainly partly my fault. I had been told to not leave my class unattended or unlocked. I did both of these things over lunch and came back to find my screen window pushed out, some broken protractors scattered around, food thrown out the window, and chips scattered around the room. At first, I definitely felt my heart rate and blood pressure rise as I got frustrated and even angry. However, realizing that this was something I had been warned about, and not heeded, as well as the fact this was almost certainly not malicious to me, as none of my personal things had been so much as touched, certainly helped.
